Mark is a shameless perfectionist and can see at a glance if something is cool. Or not. He found his calling studying graphic design in Rotterdam, where graphic design was taught as a real craft. Mariko has an innate sensor for ‘what's needed’. She knows exactly how to make your brand unique and unforgettable. Mark and Mariko met while studying and the rest is history. Besides Loaded ink, Mariko also founded jewelry brand Applepiepieces (sold in 2018), shopping guide Happlify.nl and is author of the bestseller ‘Sell your stuff online’, after which the couple's second company SYSO is named.

Over the years we have never let go of branding and design, it’s what we do best. So we decide to reopen our agency and take on new customers. Also, end of 2023, Serious Sugar lifestyle and fashion department store is founded.
2021
This year Mariko writes workbook ‘Happlify your life’, published by Nijgh & van Ditmar publishers for the Dutch and Belgian market.
2019
Happy shopping guide Happlify is founded, an unique content platform made to showcase quality webstores, brands and events.
2017
We sell jewelry brand and webstore Applepiepieces after almost ten years.
2014
Mariko writes bestseller ‘Sell your stuff online’ workbook (Unieboek | Het Spectrum publishers, 5th ed.). This kicks off the eponymous company Sell your stuff online for e-commerce entrepreneurs.
2010
Significant year. In May 2010, our awesome son Scott is born. Business wise we decide to take it easy for a while and downsize our team.
2009
We took a long extensive road trip through California USA to visit friends, bands and hot spots, also looking for new inspiration.
2008
Mariko starts jewelry brand and webstore Applepiepieces, which grows BIG almost overnight.
2007
Mark and Mariko marry on the most beautiful June 21st ever.
2005
This year we move to a larger space (across the street) and again more clients follow: a.o. Grand Hotel Kurhaus, ING Real Estate, Bronovo Hospital, Stora Enso, ANWB, VNU Exhibitions Europe, AkzoNobel and RTV Utrecht.
2001
We move to an office at Scheveningen beach and hire our first staff. More clients follow: a.o. Sanoma publishers, Heinz Europe, AkzoNobel, Chamber of Commerce, Koninklijke Horeca Nederland and the Province of Zeeland.
1998
We move to our first real office in The Hague, have cocktails with (former) Queen Beatrix and start working for a.o. Municipality of The Hague, HTM public transport, UNICEF Netherlands, Oxfam Novib and Mercedes-Benz Group.
1996
The year Mark and Mariko fall in love. Mark Naber establishes Loaded ink design agency BNO and Mariko joins in 1997.
